Miss World Spain 2015 takes place this summer and many regional winners are already preparing for the national final. Beauty with a Purpose is an idea which is thriving throughout these contests and today we take a look at some of the work that has been going on in the name of Beauty with a Purpose across Spain.
The organization of Miss World Balearic Islands has given the revenue obtained from the sale of tickets of their final gala. The event was held at the Hotel Palmira Beach on Saturday and the amount raised was donated to the 'Asdica Association from Calvià'. Maruja García Nicolau, former Miss Spain and Miss Europe1962, was present at the event.
María Ruiz, Miss Malaga 2015, wanted to start her reign collaborating with 'Mechones Solidarios', an association that helps women suffering from cancer, raising their self-esteem and strength thanks to their solidarity wig scheme, an initiative that sees women donating their hair to be made into wigs. María went to her hairdresser, cut part of her long hair and donated it to the association.
Lourdes Rodriguez, Miss Spain 2014, has also helped several organizations during her reign and her latest collaboration has been volunteering at 'Capacidades', an association that helps special children to integrate into society and even, through workshops, they teach them different professions for their future working life.
There is so much more that has been done across Spain and we applaud the efforts of the nation. If you want to find out more, visit their Website, or keep up to date following their Twitter and Facebook accounts!
