Miss World 1976 Cindy Breakspeare laced up her running shoes last week, taking part in the Red Stripe Celebrity Charity Race raising $200,000 for local good causes.

Cindy, from Jamaica, was joined by Miss Jamaica CEO Laura Butler and together they took part in the race, raising vital funds for McCam Child Care & Development Centre and the Jamaican Special Needs athletics team.

Cindy Breakspeare was crowned Miss World 1976 at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Speaking after the race, Executive director of Special Olympics Jamaica Lorna Bell was over the moon with the donation, saying “Thank you so much Laura Butler. You are so committed to Special Olympics. Your unwavering support will definitely make a difference.

Cheques were presented totaling $100,000 for each organisation, and will change the lives of many in the months to come.
