The final of Miss Malaysia World was a spectacular affair late last month, which for the first time included a charity auction segment, with funds raised for the Miss World Charity, Beauty with a Purpose. RM10,000 was raised with the auction of a stunning painting created by one of the contestants taking part in this year’s event.
Jessica Lim, a 24-year-old Executive PA created the artwork which she named “Bunga Raya”, meaning hibiscus flower, which is the central theme of the painting, and also Malaysia’s National Flower.

“It’s my first time experiencing with abstract art, something different from realistic paintings.” Said Jessica, when we spoke to her about her work. “I took this as an opportunity to leave my comfort zone and trust, believe in myself that I can adapt to any given situations being placed at.”
Jessica created the artwork for the talent portion of the competition, and decided to auction the piece during the finals to help raise money for Beauty with a Purpose. We love the painting and hope that its new owners are pleased with their purchase! Well done Jessica, and well done Malaysia!
