2010 - Ella Kabambe - MALAWI
You can have it all nice eyes, beautiful face, gorgeous body but if you don't have inner beauty then it's all vanity. Outer beauty fades with time but inner beauty lasts for a lifetime. Beauty needs to have a purpose.
I have always had the heart of helping people since I was a child, I was involved in so many charity organizations of course I was not taking a leading role. When I was crowned as Miss Malawi I lined up serveral projects that I wanted to do. And these were as follows:
Donating supplies to orphans at Bangwe HIV/AIDS Self Help Initiative (Bahasi) Care Centre in Blantyre

| Visiting Orphanages
I planned to visit not less than five orphanages in each region of my country (Malawi has three regions) by the end of reign. Due to limited resources I have only managed to visit four, All that was done from own individual effort of going to different companies to ask them for help so that these kids who do not only suffer from psychological pain from the loss of their parents also lack basic necessities like soap. The kids also look for someone to cheer them up that's why I have a heart of helping them. |

I was serving rice to prisoners
| Helping Prisoners
Most people might ask why help prisoners since they are criminals? A good answer might be not everyone who goes to prison is a criminal. Each one of us miihgt fall short and commit a crime because we are imperfect the only difference is that the people who are in prisons were caught and most of us don't get caught.
I was chosen as a promotional ambassador for the prison services in Malawi. The Prison services in my country are horrible they still believe in physical punishment. As a trained psychologist I understand that criminal behaviour emanates from the mind so beating someone up doesn't make them change for better.
They are human beings like us so helping them with basic necessities like food, soap and blankets is very essential. |
Bringing Change to Communities
80% of people in Malawi live in rural areas and live on less than $1 a day, which indicates that the people are living in dire poverty. Women from a certain community asked me to help them sourcing out funds to construct a bridge in their community because it is hard for them to cross the river especially in the rain season to go to the hospital, to the market and for the children to go to school.
The FutureI would like to help so many people as possible during my reign and after. It pains me to see people suffering. There is nothing better than to have someone beautiful inside out: Beauty with a Purpose.
