BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE

The Miss World Organisation has raised over £250 million for Children’s Charities throughout the world. Among the many recipients are the Nelson Mandela Trust, world-wide children’s charities and Variety Clubs International; all this money has been collected through the theme of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, started by Julia Morley over 30 years ago. To this day, the Miss World Organisation is the only International contest to have adopted such a theme.

Apart from the commercial work and personal appearances which Miss World is contracted to undertake in each country visited, time is always set aside to allow each country a chance to hold a special function attended by Miss World. All monies raised from ticket sales, raffles, tombolas or donations etc are entirely donated to the underprivileged and handicapped children of that country.
