Beauty with a Purpose was introduced to Miss World almost 40 years ago by Julia Morley. The theme of Beauty With A Purpose it is at the heart of Miss World, working tirelessly to raise funds for many good causes over the years. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been donated to local and international organisations in aid of disadvantaged children around the world.

Rosemary Chileshe represented Zambia at Miss World 2004 and continued to represent Zambia within the UK for three consecutive years, running from 2003-2006. Her work is a perfect example of why Beauty With A purpose is at the heart of Miss World and helping the disadvantaged children of the world.

In October 2009, Rosemary was honored as a Best Former Beauty Queen at the BEFFTA (Black, Entertainment, Fashion, Film, Television & Arts) Awards. In August 2009, Rosemary was honored with a joint Community Champion Award at the first ever South Africa Achievers Awards. This award was in recognition of the large contribution to the cause of others and her tireless work for the community.

In November 2007, Rosemary received a royal invitation from Buckingham Palace by the Queen to attend a reception recognizing those who had made a national contribution to life and painted a positive image to Africa. In November 2006, Rosemary was honored with a Gathering of Africa’s Best Award in recognition of HIV/AIDS charity work, now officially the second person after Nelson Mandela to receive one in the Southern Region of Africa. Rosemary is also an appointed Ambassador for All Star Kids Charity.

Rosemary is a founder of the ROC foundation which was founded in 2007and is aimed at raising awareness, such as the implications of HIV/AIDS. Other aspects of the foundation include: working with street kids, working with disadvantaged groups of people, administering shelters, encouraging self education, etc. The foundation focuses on raising awareness through various avenues; supporting charities / NGOs, providing support through centers and the local community.

Rosemary Chileshe has been nominated to carry the Olympic Torch in London 2012 and she is a great advocate for Beauty With A Purpose which continues to be a central focus in Miss World.
