| Miss Sierra Leone 2009 has continued to help many worthy causes since her year of reign. Mariatu Kargbo donated a huge consignment of school materials, sewing machines, one thousand uniforms and four hundred foot wears to members of the Polio Association resident at Grafton, on Saturday 7th April 2011. In addition to donating these items from her own personal savings, Miss Kargbo organised a show and the proceeds were spent building housing facilities and providing the Polio victims with employable skills. The President of polio victims at Grafton, Sylvanus Bundu noted that the teachers have been receiving continuous monthly allowances from the beauty pageant. Similar donations were made to the International Pentecostal Orphanage Primary School at Grafton, and on the same day, Miss Mariatu Kargbo donated a football, school band and a large consignment of uniform to her alma mater, Amadiya Muslim Secondary School Kissy Dock Yard, Freetown. President Bundu expressed his association’s determination to crown Miss Kargbo as their goodwill Ambassador. |
